Meet the Therapists

SARA

Sara is not currently practicing as she has officially entered maternity leave Feb 2026. Many thanks for allowing me to be apart your wellness journey for the last 14 years!

As a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Sara is dedicated to facilitating the body's natural healing processes with skill and artistry. Her approach is detailed, adaptive, and deeply intuitive—focusing on areas that are often overlooked to restore balance and optimal function. She thrives on thinking outside the box, continuously developing, customizing, and refining treatments to meet the evolving needs of each client.

Since graduating from the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in 2012, Sara has specialized in deep tissue massage, gaining extensive experience working with the unique musculoskeletal challenges faced by circus artists. As an athlete who has navigated her own injuries, she has deepened her understanding of kinesiology and therapeutic techniques. This expertise has led her to work with elite athletes in the NFL and NHL, top musicians—including members of Phish, Leftover Salmon, and professional orchestra members—music executives of the like, Cirque du Soleil performers, and the University of Minnesota Athletics Department.

Sara is trained in a variety of advanced modalities, including integrative techniques, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial techniques, intraoral therapy, aromatherapy, Thai massage, hot and cold stone therapy, cupping, and prenatal massage. She has also completed the Berkana graduate program in Mindful Expressionism®, a trauma-informed approach that promotes deep, focused work on specific areas of the body to achieve lasting structural normalization. This method emphasizes nervous system alignment and mindful, intentional touch. To learn more about this approach, visit:

Sara’s work is a seamless fusion of her fascination with anatomy and her natural artistic ability. She is the ideal therapist for clients seeking professional, intentional, and deeply therapeutic touch from a practitioner who is both precise and intuitive in her craft.

AMELIA

Amelia is carrying forward Blacksage’s legacy of exceptional therapeutic care and taking over the Denver practice starting Feb 2026!

Amelia is a Licensed Massage Therapist with 10 years of experience, known for blending a deep appreciation for body science with a holistic, intuitive approach to wellness. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in General Health and a minor in Sociology, later expanding her understanding of the human experience through a Master’s Certificate in Health, Humanities, and Ethics from the University of Colorado Anschutz. She completed her massage training at the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in 2016 and has been dedicated to the art and practice of bodywork ever since.

Amelia’s favorite modalities include neuromuscular therapy, hydrotherapy, and integrative massage. Her style is fluid and attentive combining technical precision with a grounded sense of intuition. She focuses on releasing tension, addressing areas of discomfort, and creating space for both physical healing and mental restoration. Open communication is central to her work, allowing each session to be tailored to the unique needs of every client. She often incorporates heat and aroma therapy to enhance relaxation and support the body’s natural ability to recharge.

Beyond her massage practice, Amelia is deeply engaged in community work through SAME Café (So All May Eat), a nonprofit built on a participation model where guests exchange volunteer time, donations, or produce for a healthy, locally sourced meal. SAME’s mission resonates with her long history of philanthropic involvement and her belief in compassionate feeding programs. Her work with the café reflects her broader philosophy of holistic care. Supporting well‑being not only through individual healing, but also through collective nourishment, dignity, and connection.

Originally from the small coastal town of Port St. Joe in North Florida, Amelia has called Denver home since 2015. Passionate about working with health‑minded clients, she views massage therapy as both a therapeutic tool and an art form  The massage table is a space where body, mind, and spirit can return to balance.

When she’s not in the studio or the cafe, Amelia can often be found in her yard with her six chickens, an overgrown garden, Linguini the Weenie, and her ever‑evolving landscaping dreams. She also loves reading, crafting, painting, yoga, and fire dance.
