BlackSage Bodyworks Massage Studio Policies

At BlackSage Bodyworks, our goal is to create a professional, safe, and comfortable environment for all clients and therapists. Please take a moment to review our studio policies to ensure the best possible experience during your visit.


Cleanliness

Clients are expected to arrive clean and ready for their session. This ensures a more comfortable and pleasant experience for both you and the therapist.


Non-Sexual Massage Therapy

BlackSage Bodyworks provides strictly professional, non-sexual massage therapy. Any inappropriate behavior, comments, or gestures towards the therapist will be considered sexual harassment, and the session will be terminated immediately. Full payment will still be required, and the individual will be permanently banned from returning to the studio.


Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us. All personal information and conversations shared during a massage session are held in the strictest confidence. This information is solely used to provide the best care and service to meet your individual needs.


Advice vs. Medical Diagnosis

While our massage therapists may offer helpful advice or recommendations, please understand that this is not a substitute for professional medical care. Massage therapists and holistic practitioners at BlackSage Bodyworks are not medical doctors and do not diagnose illnesses or conditions. We strongly encourage you to consult with your primary healthcare provider for any medical concerns.


Communication

Clear communication is key to your experience. If you have any questions or concerns about your session, or if adjustments need to be made (temperature, music, pressure, etc.), please let your therapist know. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities.


Health & Safety

For your safety and the safety of our therapists:

  • If a condition arises during your session that massage therapy cannot adequately address, we will refer you to a medical professional.
  • Please check with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns about receiving massage or alternative therapies.
  • Therapists reserve the right to decline, discontinue, or modify a session if they believe it may compromise the health and safety of the client or therapist.

Cupping Therapy

If you choose to receive cupping therapy, please be aware that it can cause temporary discoloration, often referred to as a “cup kiss.” This is not a bruise and will fade within a few hours or days. Your therapist will educate you on what to expect before and after cupping or other deep tissue work.


Illness Policy

If you are feeling unwell or have any type of infection, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. This policy protects the health of our therapists and other clients.


Privacy and Draping

Your privacy will be respected at all times. You will have the room to yourself to undress and dress, and during your session, you will always be covered by a drape. Only the specific area being worked on will be exposed. While clothing under the drape is optional, draping is required throughout the session. Please remain respectful and keep the drape in place at all times.


Late Arrivals

Late Arrivals

Punctuality helps us ensure a smooth experience for everyone. If you arrive late to your appointment, your session will be adjusted to fit the remaining time, allowing your therapist to stay on schedule. Please note that full payment for the originally scheduled session will still apply.

If you are 20 minutes late without prior communication, your appointment will be marked as a no-show. For sessions under 60 minutes, arriving 15–20 minutes late will also be considered a no-show or late cancellation.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting both your time and ours.


Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

At BlackSage Bodyworks, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and we strive to be as flexible as possible while respecting the time and efforts of our therapists. Please review our cancellation policy to ensure a smooth experience.

  • Full Refund: Pre-paid services canceled 24 hours or more before the scheduled appointment will receive a full refund or can be rescheduled at no additional cost.
  • Rescheduling Within 24 Hours: You are welcome to reschedule your session if you contact us within 24 hours of your appointment time, based on availability.
  • Late Cancellation (8-24 Hours Notice): Cancellations made within 8-24 hours of your appointment will result in a charge of 50% of the service total.
  • Same-Day Cancellation (Within 8 Hours): Cancellations made within 8 hours of the appointment will be charged the full service total.
  • No-Show Policy: If you do not show up for your appointment without notice, you will be charged the full service total.
  • Gift Cards and Memberships: No refunds will be given for gift cards or memberships. However, you may transfer your appointment to someone else if you are unable to attend.
  • Transfer Your Appointment: If you are unable to attend your session, you may send someone in your place to avoid being charged for the cancellation. No additional fees will apply for this transfer.
  • Exceptions: We understand that unforeseen circumstances such as illness or family emergencies can arise. If this occurs, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will handle these situations on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions are made at the discretion of BlackSage Bodyworks.

Payment and Fees

At BlackSage Bodyworks, we aim to make the payment process as seamless as possible for our clients. Please take a moment to review our payment policy.

  • Payment Methods: We accept the following forms of payment:
    • Credit and debit cards
    • Cash
    • Venmo @blacksagebodyworks (QR code available)
    • Gift cards (purchased through BlackSage Bodyworks)
    • Membership credits (for clients on subscription plans)
  • Payment Timing: Payment for services is due in full at the time of your appointment. Pre-payment is also available if you prefer to settle your balance before your session.
  • No Refunds on Gift Cards or Memberships: Please note that gift cards and memberships are non-refundable. However, both gift card balances and membership appointments may be transferred to another person.
  • Late Fees for Bounced or Returned Payments: A $30 fee will be applied to any bounced or returned checks.
  • Pre-Paid Sessions: If you have pre-paid for a session and need to cancel or reschedule, please refer to our cancellation policy to understand your options regarding refunds or transferring your appointment.
  • Gratuity: Tipping is not required but always appreciated. If you choose to tip, you can do so in cash or include it with your card payment at checkout.

BlackSage Bodyworks LLC adheres to the Massage Therapy code of ethics.
