Policies

Thank you for reading and honoring these policies. You must sign a form acknowledging this list prior to receiving massage therapy at BlackSage Bodyworks LLC.

  1. Clients are expected to arrive clean.

  1. Non Sexual Massage Therapy:  BlackSage Bodyworks LLC is providing professional massage therapy which is non sexual. If any client demonstrates any kind of inappropriate behavior, or initiates any inappropriate conversation or gestures toward the therapists, this will be considered sexual harassment and the massage will end immediately, full payment will be due, and the perpetrator will not be able to come back to the clinic in the future.
  2. All conversations and personal information will be held in the strictest of confidence. Any information exchanged during a massage or bodywork session is confidential and is only used to provide the best health aid services possible.
  3. Any advice given to you is only advice and not a medical diagnosis. Massage body workers and holistic health practitioners are not medical doctors and do not diagnose illness, disease, or any physical or mental disorder. Massage and alternative holistic therapies are not substitutes for medical treatment. BlackSage Bodyworks LLC recommends clients see a primary health provider for that service.
  4. Please communicate any questions or concerns about your session. Check with your health care provider to ensure that you are able to receive massage or alternative therapies.
  5. If during your massage a symptom is discovered that massage is not suited to help with, you will be referred to a doctor.
  6. Please communicate whatever needs to be modified to improve your massage; be it temperature of the room, music selection or volume, area being addressed, depth or pace of massage, or if you would like to talk or be silent. Our goal is for you to be happy with your experience, so feel free to talk to your therapist. Feedback is essential!
  7. The therapist reserves the right to decline, discontinue, or restrict services at any time. Particularly based on any information that may indicate massage therapy would put your, or the therapist’s, health and safety at risk.
  8. As there are many reactions that can arise out of receiving deeper bodywork, your therapist will educate you to the best of their ability so you know what you can expect during and after a massage. If you have chosen to receive cupping therapy, you are aware of the possibility of discoloration, or “cup kiss”. It is understood that this is not a bruise and it will dissipate after a few hours or days.
  9.   If you are sick with an infection of any kind, please call and reschedule your massage. The sooner the better! This is for the safety and wellness of not only yourself, but the therapist and all other clients.
  10. Your privacy will be honored at all times. You will have the room to yourself while disrobing and getting dressed. During your massage, you will always be covered with a drape. Only the area being addressed will be temporarily uncovered. Clothing under the drape is optional and your decision to make. Your professional therapist will discuss your preferences at your initial consultation. If you are not bashful, please be respectful to the therapist, and remain under the drape at all times during your massage. Draping is required.
  11. If you are late, your massage will be cut short so that the therapist may remain on schedule. You will still be responsible to pay for the full time booked.
  12. If you need to cancel or reschedule your massage, we require 24 hour notice or you will be responsible for half of the session price. If you cancel within 4 hours of your session or miss an appointment, full price of the session will be due. You may have someone come in your place for the session. A $30.00 fee will be charged for any bounced or refunded checks.

Additionally:

BlackSage Bodyworks LLC adheres to the Massage Therapy code of ethics.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

This pandemic experience is undeniably going to shape our history and alter the industry of bodywork for the foreseeable future. I appreciate your business and support while I navigate these executive orders in order to bring you the safest and most ethical sessions.

If you are at risk, I respectfully ask you to stay home and not book.

*Please be honest about your contaminations levels! If you are NOT taking standard precautions to limit your exposure to COVID-19, I ask that you not come in at this time. I am now in close proximity to a High Risk family member.

The following precautions are mandatory for all clients:

  • For each appointment, I will have an online COVID- 19 Release waiver that must be completed before your appointment. You will also be asked to fill out our online intake form to update our system. I need accurate and updated contact forms in case we need to get ahold of you.
    • The new strains are breeching vaccinated clients, so, this is still in effect.
  • If you have any symptoms please stay home. If you have symptoms at ANY time in the two week period leading up to your appointment, you will need to reschedule. You may not reschedule until you have been symptom free for at least two weeks.
  • Do not come in if you have a temperature of 100 or higher. We realize with the heat, temperatures have been different upon arrival to the office. Temperature checks may resume if we see another spike.
  • Upon arrival, you will be asked to sanitize your hands.
  • When you arrive to your appointment, please call or text and wait outside until prompted to come inside. This limits people in our waiting area and allows us to navigate social distancing more effectively.
  • MASKS: If you are vaccinated, masks are optional. If you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask. I. do have masks available upon request.
  • NO face or intra-oral massage will be provided at this time.

  • Do not bring excessive personal items such as purses, bags, backpacks, etc.  into the office without prior approval for emergencies only. Please leave it in your vehicle or at home.
  • Please touch as little as possible in the office.
  • You may not bring anyone to your appointment. If you need assistance getting to your appointment or into the building please call prior to your appointment to notify me.

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  • If you are paying in CASH,  please bring exact change.
  • You can also pay remotely through the new Vagaro booking software, Venmo, or Cash App. Cards are now kept on file and will be charged through our touch free Covid program.

How else is the studio changing to ensure sanitation?!

  • Everything will be wiped down with CDC recommended cleaning agents in between clients and deep cleaning will happen daily.
  • Regulation grade air filtering system will be in operation.
  • I will be wearing all required PPE per regulation standards as they change.

*This is all in addition to our standard universal precautionary protocols.

Until we have more information, and we see how the reopening of our state effects public health, I truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. No matter what our personal beliefs are, these are guidelines and recommendations that are meant to keep us all safe until we know more. Thank you in advance for understanding that these guidelines are non-negotiable and are necessary for me to comply with the ethical standards of my profession.
